Postby WASATCH CHARLIE » 20 Dec 2016, 02:05

Before my old shooting partner rode off into the sunrise on his HARLEY , to ARIZONA-LAND in October,he dropped off some unwanted ''treasures'' that I promptly ''stored'' in a shed out back .checked for leaks a couple days ago.and looked the ''goodies over...5 gal.pail with a 25 foot tow chain, hooks on both ends....2 bush/smoke jumper axes, like a matox,. coal shovel, long handled spade, regular pick,10 pound sledge hammer(THATS 4 $ale!!) and 3 axes...one general purpose about 3.5 pounds broken handle AND ztou 2 GRANSFORS swedesh axes...2 1/2 pound head and other about 3 1/2 pounds head ''straight blades...cleaned up the limbing axe and new handle installed....22'' . the 3 1/2 gransfors will get a 28-30+'' handle when I find some decent hickory........ Just so you good folks don't think I'm just kicking around with nothing to do lol zlol zhod
General JAY GIBSON was my friend and always will be.
Straight as an arrow to VALHALLA. Brother.

Glenn those GRANSFORS axes are damned good, hand-forged units. Get you a good handle made of hickory (don't bother with lacquered ones) with the grain parallel to the cheeks of the axe. Hang er up tight, sharpen it to shave sharp and go cut some stuff!
Jay Gibson- 1966-2015. You will always be with us brother. Rest easy in Valhalla till we all meet up again.

Of what value is the preservation of humanity without the preservation of freedom?

Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

A good axe is a joy. Have fun refurbishing those. Nothing more satisfying than saving a good axe or knife that has been neglected.
